About Jan

Following a career in graphic design and running my own design studio, I studied at Chelsea College of Art & Design and gained a BA (hons) degree in Textile Design.

Since moving to West Somerset in 2004 I have devoted my time to painting full time. I like to switch between subjects and styles and am happy painting landscapes, still lifes and abstracts. Although each genre is entirely different in content there is a common thread running through each subject which reveals my fascination with recycling. Looking closely at much of my work will reveal an eclectic array of used and found materials.

My paintings are presently shown in various galleries in the west country and I regularly take part in local exhibitions including the past three Somerset Art Weeks. I am a member of SAW and Artists 303 and this year I will be participating in SAW09 with a group of Watchet Artists in Cleeve
